Hello Everyone
This is our story
Chef’s Care was born at home—not in a boardroom or a business plan.
Caring for my father, Kenneth J. Grayer Sr., changed how I understood care. Even with appointments scheduled and plans in place, the day-to-day reality was overwhelming. Meals became another responsibility layered onto an already full plate. Not because we didn’t care; but because care at home is complex, exhausting, and deeply human.
What stood out most wasn’t the medical side.
It was how something as simple as food could either support recovery or quietly work against it.
As an Executive Chef and co-owner of Southerners Food Company, I had spent my career feeding people. But caring for my father showed me something different: food at home isn’t about presentation or portions—it’s about dignity, comfort, routine, and trust. It’s about someone showing up, consistently, in the space where healing actually happens.
That realization stayed with us.
Amanda and I didn’t set out to start another food business. We set out to solve a problem we lived through ourselves—one we knew families and care teams were facing every day. The gap between a care plan and real life at home.
Chef’s Care was built to fill that gap.
We provide personalized, in-home culinary care for individuals who are aging, recovering, or navigating ongoing health challenges at home. Meals are prepared in the home—never delivered, never frozen—because presence matters. Preferences matter. Routine matters. And continuity matters.
Today, Chef’s Care partners with families, home care agencies, and healthcare teams to support recovery, independence, and continuity of care—while easing the daily burden placed on caregivers.
Because care doesn’t stop at discharge. And healing doesn’t happen alone.
Thank you for trusting us in your homes and alongside your teams.
It’s truly our pleasure.
